Earth Day Displays at Castlegar Schools

Posted on

In the month leading up to Earth Day. classes at both Kinnaird and Twin Rivers Elementary Schools turned trash into Recycled Art. Students collected bits and pieces of garbage or recycling from home and then used their materials to create works of art with a message! Each student chose a slogan for their artwork such as "Hang your clothes to dry" or "Save water" that would encourage others to take positive actions to help the environment. The whole theme of the project was shrinking our ecological footprint (our impacts on the environment) and increasing our ecological handprint (the actions we take to help the environment). These pieces of art are currently on display at both schools for other students and teachers to admire.
