JV Humphries students build planter boxes and grow food! As our Earth Day and EcoChallenge activity, we built planter boxes, filled with soil, seeded, watered, and watched out food grow! We grew delicious radishes and spicy greens and students took turns watering the boxes as needed through spring.

It’s a Plastic World! In this lesson we thought about how much plastic is in our everyday lives and shared how many items we had touched in our day that were made of plastic. We then learned how plastic can be harmful to the environment, especially when it’s accumulated in the oceans.
