Mr. Mcanerney’s class got down to business – the paper recycling business. Right before the holidays, the grade 6 students at TM Roberts took what they’ve been learning with Wildsight and put it into action, making recycled paper from used paper scraps.
The students have been learning about all the resources and processing involved in making new stuff, so for this lesson made something new out of something old. In doing so, they “closed the loop” – changing the linear life cycle of most items into a loop by reusing materials. The students were focused and worked quickly, ensuring enough paper was made so everyone can have a piece for a future art project.
