The Challenge is on! The Hot Lunch Eco-Challenge that is. Kinnaird Elementary in Castlegar is in a friendly competition with Glenmerry Elementary in Trail. The competition is simple; The school that diverts the most waste from their Hot Lunch WINS!! And the prize; Good Eco-Footprint Karma!!
Each Beyond Recycling class has invited another class from their school to participate in this challenge. On the Hot Lunch day, these students will enjoy their lunch but instead of tossing all the packaging in the garbage they will sort the packaging into piles of recycling, compost, or reusable items. The students will then weigh the material and transport it all to the appropriate locations. Stay tuned for the results! What school do you think will win this Eco-Challenge?
