Mrs. Mackay’s 4/5 class made lovely thank you cards to our tour guides at the Nelson Leafs Recycling Centre, the Grohman Narrows Transfer Station, and the Ootischenia Landfill. It was really neat getting a chance to follow the waste stream, seeing what can be returned for money, what is diverted from the landfill, and how much ends up getting squashed by Stan’s compactor.
