Over the last few weeks, the students at St Mary’s Catholic school in Cranbrook have been working hard on an Inquiry based learning project. Each student, on their own or with a partner was to design a "City of the Future" . The outcome from this project was amazing!!! The students based their design on the Eco Footprint principals, discussed earlier in the Beyond Recycling program. The students designed cities with smaller eco footprints and created new and interesting ways to live sustainably . Some examples of their ingenuity and imagination, were to develop state of the art, water collection systems, flying cars fueled by the sun, zero garbage initiatives, solar panels on every roof, biomass cars household and community gardens ( which feed everyone) and a sharing and trading market system..Cooperation and togetherness, was key to the communities success!!
