Water EcoChallenge- Rural Water Projects in Tanzania

Posted on

Sarah Newton’s grade 5 class at Begbie View Elementary was inspired, after the Beyond Recycling Our Water lesson, to raise money for rural water projects in Tanzania. Their original goal was to raise $150.00 for a well.

Students had a reuse, make or bake sale at the school which raised $1000.00. Two students also took it upon themselves to ask the Revelstoke Credit Union for support and they gave $500.00.

The Grade 5 class donated a total of $1500.00 to Me to We to use on rural water projects in Tanzania. The class is waiting to hear back from Me 2 We about details regarding the specific water projects they supported.

Congratulations to this class for an incredibly successful Water EcoChallenge!
