After Mrs. Graham’s grade 5 class got to look at their class’s garbage, we reviewed what can be recycled (and where) with teams being challenged to get through 10 items that might go in the city’s blue box (if you live in Nelson), might need to be dropped off at our transfer station, or might have to go somewhere else for recycling (think batteries, or used propane containers). And then there are the surprise items that can’t be recycled (6-pack rings, anyone?)
