Why just examine your class’s garbage when you can look at the entire school’s waste? This is what happened today in Ms Hodgson’s class, where the school custodians kindly saved ALL the school’s garbage from the day before. We learned it’s not a job for the faint of heart! We also discovered the school’s actual output isn’t particularly big, and that some work still can be done in the school to remember about what is actually garbage, and what can be diverted from the waste stream (either by choosing bulk or homemade over packaged, choosing to recycle or return scraps and uneaten food, and remembering that just because something is no longer wanted by you, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s considered waste by everyone else).
