Students from Webster Elementary got their hands dirty at a local farm in Rossland. This “Good Food” field trip was an opportunity for learning about how farming works in a small community. Farmers Dan and Miche were so informative about their water management, extreme weather challenges, and the business side of supplying a community with fresh produce. Students experienced how labor intensive farming can be by helping out with a few chores on the farm to end off the tour. Dirty hands and sore backs are a small price to pay for sustainable local food. Thank you Happy Hills Farm!
