The grade 5/6 class at St Mary’s School in Cranbrook, had the chance to try a new game that highlights the “Solutions” to Our Changing Climate. Using real world and researched solutions, the students worked together as a team to try to select climate strategies that would lower the global temperature before 2050. The game was very engaging, informative and fun!! Students remarked on how they liked that the game focused on the solutions rather than the all the scary stuff they hear in the media. Although those challenges are worked into the game, it takes a more climate adaptation and resiliency approach. The students shared that they really appreciated the learning from this game, as it gave them hope and inspiration!! Some students even wanted to share with their families! Now that’s a good game!
