Everything you use has a story. A beginning, a middle and an end. A story of extracting the ingredients, a story of manufacturing -or producing – the end product, a story of transportation, even a story of what happens after it’s useful time is over.
The students in Mme. Webster’s grade 6 class at TM Roberts explored the story of everyday objects as part of the first unit on waste, during this year’s Beyond Recycling program. They researched the story of a glass bottle, aluminum can, pencil, and jeans, then presented their stories in creative ways to the rest of the class including skits, story telling and dressing up at different glass soda bottles – a comedic highlight for sure!
These stories are sure to provide an entertaining reference point for many lessons to come.
