Students at Frank J. Mitchell Elementary School explored the hidden life of common place items such as soccer balls, aluminum cans, glass bottles, batteries, pencils and jean pants. Students worked in groups to investigate how an item is made, including what raw materials are harvested, where they come from, and what processing they undergo to be turned into a product. Students then looked at how these products are distributed, consumed and then disposed of, and all the impacts that these different steps can have on the environment and our societies.
