Natural ingredients, a little mess, and personal Eco-labels were the focus for both Gr. 6 classes at Robson Community School and Twin Rivers Elementary School. In our belated celebration of Earth Day, each student made a natural household all purpose cleaner to take home and use. Students learned how certain natural ingredients such as vinegar, lemon juice, borax etc. can do just as good of a cleaning job as other cleaners full of toxic chemicals, which can pollute our water. They also looked at what is in an "eco-label" and what to look for when purchasing sustainable products. A fun hands-on Earth day activity, with a very clean outcome!
