Chef Mackay's special of the day

Chef Mackay let the 4/5s at Redfish watch her make her specialty – the fossil fuel oil! She first liberally sprinkled plankton into her large, large pot of salty water, then applied a heavy, impermeable clay layer to exert great pressure and increase the temperature of the mix. After setting her timer to a few tens of millions of years (and making sure not to get any oxygen in her creation)… Voila! Petroleum. (She actually already had some petroleum on hand – we didn’t have to wait for the timer to go 🙂 )
