Mr. C’s grade 5 class shared what they learned through Beyond Recycling in the fall while visiting the Waste Management recycling collection facility in Brilliant, Castlegar to be sure that all students and staff were recycling right and recycling often at Hume School.
Each class was invited into the grade 5 room for a 20 minute presentation illustrating why it is important to recycle and how to recycle properly at school. With hours of hard work and cooperation, the students designed the presentations to use props, games, video, and photos. Each grade 5 student had a very important role!
They spread the recycling word to 180 Hume kids and their teachers AND produced 15 signs to label the blue/green bins in every room in the school! Way to go Grade 5!! Happy Earth Day.
