From Shirt to Bag

Crafty action projects for a crafty class! One of the classes’ favourite parts of Beyond Recycling so far was turning waste into art. So, when it was time to choose an Earth Action Project, we did it again! This time, we used old t-shirts and sewed them into re-usable bags.

Some students brought their own old or too-small t-shirts from home, while others used shirts found at local thrift stores. Not only did we have a blast being creative, but we saved clothing from the landfill and learned how to stitch by hand! A waste-reduction project with a twist of practical real-life skills – a win-win.

Move over waste-art, we have a new favourite Beyond Recycling lesson!
