Wow! There are so many natural resources involved in producing these four items: Soccer Ball, Pencil, Pop Can, and a Light Bulb. Each item is like a story. It has a beginning (using raw materials), a middle (its function as a product, and how we use it) and an end (can we recycle or reuse this item? Where does it end up?). The students really learn about what it takes to produce everyday items. They are shocked to learn all the different materials from Earth and the countries involved in producing these items. It’s so important for all of us to think about the "story" of all products we use. This in turn will help us consume more responsibly, plus it’s always fun to learn all of this while wearing a funny mask!
