Frank J Mitchell students fired up our time machine to explore how waste has changed over human history. Although a few students got lost in spacetime for a little bit, while they were gone some really interesting guests turned up! From cave people to ancient farmers to hippies we heard stories about how much waste their societies created and what kind of waste it was. Students brought up some really interesting points, such as not only are we producing more waste, but it lasts for a longer time. We also had lots of questions about how long it takes for plastic to break down and how long chemicals can impact ecosystems. Next week we start to look at the full story of all of this stuff… Stay tuned!
