As a final hurrah to celebrate Redfish School’s Beyond Recycling Program, Ms. Goggin’s grade 5 class helped and had fun at The Living Garden.
Under the guidance of garden volunteers, students learned about and planted oodles of tomato plants which will produce delicious, juicy fruit to be sent to the Nelson Food Cupboard later this summer. The kids discovered just how much fun it is to plant and work in the garden. They pulled weeds, watered, planted, mulched, and moved rocks. Their efforts will help produce real, fresh and local food for some of Nelson’s food banks and soup kitchens.
Many thanks to The Living Garden, a community group assisted by Balfour Covenant Church. We had a great time with our hands in the dirt!
