It’s easy to say that recycling is better for the environment, but how do you recycle something anyway? Students were hired at the Arsty Fartsy Paper Factory and got to get their hands dirty recycling discarded paper that their school had collected. Students worked in teams sorting the waste paper and shredding it into smaller pieces, blending it into a pulp, squeezing and dabbing water out of the pulp and flattening it into the highest quality artisan paper around. By working with scrap paper students saw how cutting out the resource extraction process can save energy and resources. Also, did we mention it’s a lot of fun???
