Learning about Worms and Vermicompost

Ms. Tegarts class loves their worms. All year they took care of a worm bin and learned how worms change our food scraps into dirt. We also learned how fast worms can reproduce and spent a class turning one worm bin into two. All that vermicompost was used to grow potatoes in the class. Students also grew their own marigolds to take home for their gardens. This class loved to get their hands dirty and plant their own seeds. This will become a life long love of gardening for some of these students.
